LFF PREVIEWS: WHISTLES AW13 COLLECTION

Last week LFF headed to Dover Street for the Whistles AW13 press day. If you love the look of these textured sparkling court shoes, then be sure to click below the jump to see what else the brand has in store for us next season...

More than just a complement to the collection, the AW13 accessories line really stood out for me at the Whistles press day.

Texture is key to the label's handwriting with croc, suede and ponyskin bringing this aesthetic to handbags, clutches, shoes and small leather goods. The fuzzy sparkling black court shoes were my favourite style, quirkily covetable, they just asked to be touched.

I also loved the boxy clutch bags, structured for that smart edge whilst big enough to fit in all the cr*p I love to tote about.

Black tulips set a darkly opulent mood for AW13.

The Naval look was an obvious influence; I like the Gucci-esque vibe of the above interlocking chain print.

I really liked these heavily embellished sequin  pieces, monochrome will continue to be a trend well into AW I predict.

Don't you just long to reach out and stroke this rack of clothes? The contrast between the hard, tough leather textures and fuzzy, strokable furs and knits is bang-on the money.

Camo goes luxe! I can't wait to trial this key catwalk trend (also seen at the Christopher Kane show) next season. Whistles have reimagined the military look in rich jacquard that shimmers and catch the light, stiffened to create a smooth line away from the body.

Mark my words, green will be EVERYWHERE next season. The full spectrum of shades was on offer at the press day, from sea green through forest hues and military-inspired olive greens.

Loved this luxuriously soft and heavy cocoon-shape knit. It was goddamn cold last Thursday so I was slightly tempted to pull on the sweater and run away.
Whistles AW13 Leopard top
Favourite piece alert! A ponyskin leopard print shell top with contrast sleeves? Yes please! This is an absolute classic style that will never date. But unfortunately we have to wait until AW to get our hands on it ladies!
